  • 1882 – First electric tram operated in eastern London.
  • 1894 – More than 1000 homes have been destroyed in the fierce fire that took place in Shanghai.
  • 1902 – American Automobile Association was established in Chicago.
  • 1921 – On this day in non-cooperation movement by a guru of Nankana, where the meeting was being conducted peacefully, but 70 people were killed due to the firing by the soldiers.
  • 1924 – Clapton Sunny’s famous song ‘Happy Birth Day to You’ was published.

  • 1886 – Balusu Sankurmurthy, Chief Freedom Fighter of Madras.
  • 1921 – Famous Hindi literary writer Phaniswarnath Renu was born.
  • 1922 – Dina Pathak, famous Gujarati theater and film actress
  • 1929 – Komal Kothari – A person from Rajasthan who was devoted to the compilation and research of Rajasthani folk songs and stories etc.
  • 1980 – Rohan Bopanna, Indian Tennis Player.
  • 1980 – Kamalini Mukherjee, Indian film actress.
  • 1986 – Bangladesh’s all-rounder Mahmudullah was born. He scored two consecutive centuries in the 2015 World Cup. He became the first batsman to do this.
